Slonim International’s roots date back to 1952, when it was started by Nathan (Nate) Slonim, in Buffalo, New York.  In its early days it was called Slonim Distributors and it wholesaled carpets, vinyl flooring, ceramic tiles and area rugs.

Slonim International started its export business quite by accident in 1963, when Nate traveled on holiday to the Caribbean to the Island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. While Nate’s wife was shopping, he wandered down the shopping center and ended up in a furniture store.  After a conversation with the store owner, Nate, being the salesman he was, immediately saw the need for a supplier of carpets and flooring to the Caribbean and within weeks of his first trip, Nate began exporting to the region.

Regardless of the fact that the company was located in Buffalo, each and every year, Nate and his son Gary traveled all over the Caribbean, Central and South America selling their products.

Currently, Slonim International is the leading exporter of flooring products to the Caribbean and Latin America.  It also distributes flooring products throughout Florida and as far north as Montreal, Quebec and as far west as Vancouver, British Columbia. Also, It is a multinational company with offices in Miami, Florida, and Shanghai, China.

As of 2010 we are expanding our market to cover the entire domestic Florida market. We have formed very strong partnerships with Factories around the world to provide the best Cushion Vinyl, Laminates, Rugs, Mats, and Carpets available in the market today. Also as of 2010 we have expanded our marketing department to help our customers with the ability to sell our products better. By the end of 2010 websites will be available to use with most of our products full of information to help you advertise better.
